Why This Work

For nearly two decades, I've had the privilege of mentoring youth, women, and girls, helping them navigate challenges, rebuild confidence, and move forward with purpose.

Over the years, I saw technology reshape everyday life. Conversations that once centered on friendships, school, and personal growth increasingly became conversations about online experiences, social media, and digital safety.

Young people came to me with situations that hadn't existed before—strangers pretending to be peers, relationships formed with people who weren't who they claimed to be, private images shared without consent, cyberbullying, online manipulation, and pressure created by social media.

Women shared different, but equally concerning, experiences. They talked about online dating deception, romance scams, digital stalking, fake social media accounts, impersonation, technology-facilitated domestic abuse, financial fraud, and technology being used to intimidate, monitor, or maintain control.

Then artificial intelligence (AI) changed everything again.

Fake profiles became nearly impossible to recognize. Voices could be cloned. Images could be created without consent. Deepfakes blurred the line between reality and fiction. AI-generated messages became more convincing, making deception easier than ever before.

What concerned me most wasn't simply that these threats existed—it was how few people knew they were possible.

Parents didn't know.

Educators didn't know.

Community leaders didn't know.

Many of the people experiencing these situations didn't know either.

That's the gap Her Bridge Collective exists to close.

My experiences gave me a firsthand view of what technology-facilitated victimization looks like in real communities—not just through statistics or headlines, but through the lives of people I've had the privilege to mentor, advocate for, and support.

Today, Her Bridge Collective partners with schools, churches, nonprofits, community organizations, government agencies, and families to provide practical, prevention-focused digital safety and AI awareness education. Our goal is simple: help people recognize digital risks before they become victims and equip communities with the knowledge to respond confidently when harm occurs.
